Tesbih & Misbaha

Tesbih & Misbaha

Tesbih and Misbaha are both terms for prayer beads used in Islam to practice Dhikr, which is the remembrance and praise of Allah.

Tesbih: The term "Tesbih" is often used in the Turkish-speaking world. It refers to prayer beads traditionally consisting of 33 or 99 beads. They are often used during Dhikr, where believers recite Allah's names or short praises repeatedly. The beads help to count the number of repetitions.

Misbaha: This is the Arabic term for the same concept. It refers to prayer beads also used for Dhikr. Most Misbahas have 99 beads, corresponding to the 99 names of Allah in Islam. However, they can also come in other sizes.

In both cases, Tesbih and Misbaha serve as aids for prayer and spiritual reflection in Islam. Believers often use them in personal prayer practices or group prayers.
